100 valedictorians honored
VGP – The local authorities of Ha Noi held a ceremony to honor 100 valedictorians from universities and institutes based in the capital in 2016 on August 28 at Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (the Literature Temple).
The event drew the attendance of Politburo member and Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai.
Ha Noi leaders congratulated the valedictorians and expected that they would spare no effort to study, research, and take the lead in accessing to state-of-the-art knowledge and scientific and technological applications.
The event is the 14th of its kind hosted by the Hanoi authorities. Over 1,500 students have been honored over the past 14 years.
The valedictorians, who are graduates from universities and institutes with impressive academic results, are role-models for students struggling to overcome difficulties to pursue scientific studies, initiatives, as well as practical and effective solutions both locally and internationally.
Among the 100 honored valedictorians are 38 males and 62 females; 40 of them have good academic records while 60 received outstanding results.
Earlier, the valedictorians on August 28 visited Da Chong (K9) historical relic site in Ha Noi's outlying Ba Vi district and planted trees at Den Va relic site at Son Tay town, Ha Noi in response to the One Million Trees campaign./.
