Capital promotes trade ties in U.S.

VGP - Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen led a business delegation to California and Washington, D.C., the U.S. from October 27-31 in a bid to spur local investment and trade ties after a Covid-caused two-year hiatus.

The delegation had a working meeting with Mr. Mark Chandler, from the San Francisco Mayor's Office of International Trade and Commerce, on October 28, in San Francisco, California,

The delegation visited the Embassy of Viet Nam in the U.S. and the Washington Mayor's Office from October 29-31.

During these meetings, the Vice Chairman introduced supportive policies and incentives of Ha Noi and the local potentials and advantages as one of the two economic hubs in Viet Nam. 

He also made clear the city's orientations on development, cooperation, investment attraction to investors in both California and Washington, D.C.

In addition, the Vice Chairman  responded to all questions raised by those investors who are interested in optimizing the advantages of Ha Noi. 

According to Mr. Nguyen, Ha Noi’s export turnover to the U.S. was estimated at US$ 3.4 billion in 2021, accounting for 21.5 percent of the city's total export turnover, representing a year-on-year increase of 25.9 percent. 

The city recorded import value of  US$1.3 billion, equivalent to 3.7 percent of its total imports, up 23 percent against 2020./.
