Capital welcomes 3.6 million international visitors in first ten months

The city targeted 24 million visitors for the whole of 2023, including four million foreign arrivals. With two months left in the year.
In the first ten months, the number of international visitors reached 3.6 million.
Among them, foreign arrivals totaled 3.6 million people, an increase of 3.5 times over the same period in 2022; domestic travelers numbered 17.1 million, up 19.1 percent; and the combined revenue from tourists amounted to an estimated VND76.3 trillion (US$3.1 billion), up 66.7 percent over the same period last year.
In October 2023, Ha Noi welcomed 1.81 million visitors, an increase of 17.2% on an inter-annual basis, a decrease of 11 percent compared to September 2023.
Among them, foreign arrivals reached 411,300, up 67.7 percent from the same period in 2022 and up 6 percent from the previous month.
Domestic tourists accounted for 1.4 million, up 7.7 percent from the same period in 2022 and down 15 percent from September.
Total revenue from tourists is estimated at about VND7.17 trillion (US$292.1 million), up 69.6 percent over the same period in 2022 and down 7 percent compared to the previous month.
In October, the hotel occupancy rate in Ha Noi was about 50.1 percent, down 7.5 percent from September.
It is estimated that in the ten months of 2023, the average hotel occupancy rate reaches 59.9 percent, an increase of 13.9 percent compared to the same period in 2022./.
