Dozens killed and injured in local apartment fire
VGP - Secretary of the Ha Noi municipal Party Committee decided to provide the highest assistance for fire victims of a mini apartment building in Ha Noi at midnight on September 12.
Initial statistics showed that dozens of people were killed and injured following a fire breaking out at the mini apartment building.
The fire started at 23:30 p.m. at a mini apartment building in a small alley of Khuong Ha street in Thanh Xuan district.
Around 150 people were living in the 10-story building spanning more than 200 square meters.
Upon receiving news of the blaze, the fire department immediately rushed to the site and climbed up the apartment building in order to rescue people from the fire.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung were on-site to oversee further rescue strategies following the fire.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung also travelled to the scene in the morning to examine and provide immediate directions.
The Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee urged Thanh Xuan District and Khuong Dinh Ward authorities to deploy all resources to aid the injured and manage the aftermath of the blaze. He emphasized the importance of providing immediate and utmost assistance to the families impacted.
The block is designed in the tube house style, featuring one facade and three sides adjoining other residential properties.
There are approximately 40-50 flats available for let, mainly occupied by families and students.
The structure boasts an underground car park, eight storeys of apartments, and a top floor balcony.
Each level comprises five apartments, ranging in size from 35 to 56sq.m./.
