Co-organised by the Ha Noi Goethe Institute and the VNSO, the event aims to offer the public a typical Christmas atmosphere in the traditional German style.
The highlight of the event will be the large Christmas concert, which is an indispensable cultural event in any city in Germany during the Christmas season.
According to Director of Goethe Institute Viet Nam Wilfried Eckstein, the fair will feature craft products, including different Christmas decorations and some traditional German foods.
In addition, a Christmas concert will be held at 20h00 on December 19 under the direction of Conductor HonnaTetsuji and musicians from the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra and singers from Vietnam National Opera and Ballet, and Young Catholic Choir of Ha Noi.
The Germany Christmas Market has long been a cultural site where visitors come to experience the typical Christmas atmosphere, as well as prepare for the New Year. The most famous Christmas market in Germany is Nuenberg, which sells handmade products and Christmas specialties.
Christmas markets are usually held in large, open spaces and close to churches. For this reason, the Ha Noi Goethe Institute has come up with the idea of holding a German Christmas market in Ha Noi.
The event runs until December 16.
