4th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Sports

Speaking at the opening ceremony on October 24, Deputy Director of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training Lam Quang Thanh highly valued the outcomes of collaboration among co-operation in the region.

Participants adopted a joint report on sports submitted by the ASEAN Secretariat.

Japanese Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Kihei Maekawa proposed areas for sports collaboration between Japan and ASEAN. He also highlighted Japan-Vietnam cooperation in football in recent times.

The meeting aims to enhance mutual understanding among ASEAN peoples, tighten diplomatic ties and orient sports activities in ASEAN as well as promoting Vietnam’s culture, sports and tourism to regional friends.

The meeting will continue discussing specific orientations and tasks for next years on October 25.
