Capital city aims to boost official farm exports to China

Optimal support for customs clearance
Addressing the forum, Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said that the city currently has 425 valid FDI projects invested by Chinese businesses with a total registered capital of US$517 million.
The total import-export turnover between Ha Noi and China in 2017 and in the first 11 months of 2018 reached US$16.5 billion, with the Vietnamese city having exported US$3 billion worth of commodities to the Chinese market and imported US$13.5 billion worth of goods from China. China ranks first in terms of tourist arrivals to Ha Noi, with the figure constantly increasing over recent years.
Located within the “Two Corridors and One Economic Belt” plan, Ha Noi has been actively engaged in the economic cooperation conferences held in localities of the two countries, and has signed minutes of cooperation across various fields.
In the time ahead, Ha Noi will focus on reviewing its key products which are eligible for exports and meet the demands of the Chinese market, while continuously reforming administrative procedures and working closely with customs agencies of the two countries to provide optimal support in terms of customs clearance, thus helping the Vietnamese and Chinese businesses boost goods trading activities.
Pragmatic and win-win cooperation
According to the Ha Noi mayor, in order to effectively implement China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative and “Two Corridors, One Economic Belt” plan, further facilitate pragmatic and win-win cooperation, and promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Viet Nam and China, the city will uncreasingly expand and strengthen its external partnerships through memorandums of understanding and specific programs and projects, in order to accelerate socio-economic development.
In addition, Ha Noi will speed up administrative reforms, while building a favorable, fair and transparent business climate for enterprises of Viet Nam and China, Chung said.
He stated that the forum has paved the way for firms from Viet Nam, China and member organizations of the Boao Forum to access and connect each other to seek and effectively implement cooperation opportunities./.
