Celebrate Korean culture

VGP - Wearing colourful costumes and wonderful masks, artists from the Republic of Korea thrilled Vietnamese audience with performances of a traditional dance, Talchum, to marked the nation's culture week at the Viet Nam Women's Museum.

For seven days, visitors will have the opportunity to visit Made from wood, pasteboard, feathers and dried gourds, the masks reflect the faces of people, gods and animals.

Through masks and dance, the artists told tales relating to life and production and sent messages to the gods for prosperity and happiness.

During the festival, visitors can also learn how to make masks and try on Korean costumes, and have to visit, interact and experience a wide diversity of Korean activities including a Korean Mask and Pungmul art exhibition, Talchum and Pungmul folk dance performances, trying on Hanbok-Korean traditional costumes, and enjoying Korean cuisine.

The event is the result of a joint effort by the Viet Nam Women’s Museum and the Korean Cultural Centre in Ha Noi.

The RoK Culture Week is ongoing at the Viet Nam Women's Museum, 36 Ly Thuong Kiet street, Ha Noi until August 23.
