The capital city of Ha Noi has issued a plan to organize decorations as well as cultural, sports and arts activities in order to greet the New Year, welcome the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) and mark the 87th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (February 3, 1930-2017).

Accordingly, a variety of cultural and arts performances, financed by non-State funding sources, will be organized on a large scale across the city to celebrate the New Year 2017, including a countdown ceremony at the August Revolution Square; a New Year-greeting arts program at the square of My Dinh National Stadium; another countdown event at the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square; and other arts performances at the Thong Nhat Park and the Ly Thai To Flower Garden.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, Ha Noi will organize arts and sports performances at the Ly Thai To Flower Garden, in the centre of the districts of Ha Dong and Tay Ho and Son Tay town, and outside My Dinh National Stadium on January 27, 2017 (Lunar New Year’s Eve); and a “Vietnamese Tet” program at the Ha Noi Museum. A film week to welcome the spring is also scheduled, alongside mobile performances serving local citizens.

Activities to mark the foundation of the Communist Party of Viet Nam will include arts performances and exhibitions introducing the Party’s history and tradition. Besides, historical, cultural and revolutionary relic sites across the city will open to public as part of celebrations.
