Free movies to be screened for national holiday

Over a dozen Vietnamese movies will be screened for free in the next few days, as part of celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution on August 19 and National Day on September 2.

This is an opportunity for the public in the capital to enjoy documentary, animated and feature films rich in historical and artistic depth. These works pave a way back to the past, recreating the heroic spirit of the historic autumn in which marked the important milestones in the journey building and defending the country.
At the same time, the event serves to inspire a sense of national pride, strengthening the bond between the people and the nation, boosting the spirit of self-reliance and resilience, spreading a message of gratitude toward the predecessors, while inspiring the future generations to continue building and bringing the country to new height.
The event will include a total of 80 mobile screenings for residents in wards and communes; workers in industrial and export processing zones; universities, colleges, high schools and vocational schools' students; as well as inmates at correctional and reformatory facilities across Ha Noi.
Audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of revolutionary films such as: "August Star", "Ha Noi Winter 1946", "Ha Noi 12 Days and Nights", "Dong Loc Three-way Junction", "Peach Blossom, Pho and Piano", "The Abandoned Field: Free Fire Zone" …
In addition, 40 screenings will be held at Kim Dong cinema (19 Hang Bai, Cua Nam) and 2/9 Cinema (9 Le Lai, Son Tay) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from August 1 to September 15.
To complement the program, the Ha Noi Center for Culture and Library will be presenting a special screening accompany by live art performance on the evening of August 22, on the outdoor stage of the Phu Dien Cultural Center (6 Vo Quy Huan, Phu Dien, Ha Noi)./.
