The meeting, attended by senior leaders including Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong and key officials from the Hanoi People’s Committee and city departments, focused on reviewing the ongoing work across various organizing subcommittees and emphasizing urgent tasks to ensure the success of this national celebration.

Multi-Layered Coordination for a National Milestone

Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Department of Culture, Pham Xuan Tai, reported that six specialized subcommittees are spearheading different aspects of the event, including parade coordination, communication, healthcare, security, sanitation, logistics, and reception.

The Ha Noi Capital Command is ensuring all conditions are in place for rehearsals and deployment of marching and parade units. Military and specialized police vehicles are being stationed and trained at designated sites, including the F1 racetrack, with route planning being finalized for smooth movement before and after the parade.

Central ministries and agencies responsible for the 12 public march units and cultural blocs are working on mobilization, designated training zones, and access planning to ensure readiness.

Bringing the Parade to the People

The Subcommittee on Content, Communication, and Healthcare announced the deployment of a city-wide LED screen network, allowing citizens to witness the historic parade and celebration. A total of 157 screens are planned: six in parks and public areas near the capital's gateways, 15 along 11 parade routes, 136 in commune and ward-level public areas

Additionally, 127 screens—provided through socialized efforts—will further enhance outreach, even without internet connectivity.

Security, Sanitation, and City Readiness

Security subcommittees have developed detailed traffic routing and crowd control plans. Meanwhile, environmental and infrastructure departments are focusing on maintaining urban systems, from public restrooms and lighting to flood prevention and road safety—especially along critical parade routes.

To support smooth city operations, the Department of Construction has ordered a citywide suspension of road and pavement excavation works starting August 15, easing movement for delegates, citizens, and tourists during the celebration period.

The Ha Noi Department of Tourism is actively collaborating with relevant agencies to ensure a welcoming environment for international and domestic guests. A key recommendation was to announce road closures early, helping both residents and visitors plan ahead.

The preparation also includes organizing seating arrangements, printing event passes and invitation letters, and coordinating reception plans for all delegate levels. These tasks are to be completed before August 15, per directive from the City Chairman.

Chairman Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that with limited time left, all subcommittees must work in close alignment with the overall plan outlined in Plan No. 173/KH-UBND. He stressed the need for proactive communication and coordination—including establishing Zalo group chats for real-time updates—to quickly resolve emerging issues.

The Chairman also directed a careful review of rehearsal schedules to avoid clashes with other events held by both central and city authorities. Ensuring minimal disruption to residents while maintaining high-quality execution of rehearsals and parades remains a top priority.

He further instructed all units to adopt an "on-the-spot" readiness approach during peak days of the event, with personnel pre-positioned to maintain smooth execution amid large crowds.

With an elaborate, city-wide coordination effort now underway, Hanoi is rapidly finalizing its preparations to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day on September 2nd.

The event, expected to feature a grand parade, cultural showcases, and mass public participation, stands as a symbol of national pride, unity, and progress. With just weeks remaining, Ha Noi's leaders are determined to ensure that this milestone celebration proceeds with order, efficiency, and profound national significance./.
