Ha Noi accelerates three transport projects
VGP - Ha Noi has expedited the implementation of three major transport projects under emergency directives to strengthen urban connectivity and support national strategic requirements.

The project involves upgrading and widening Hung Vuong Road, from Tran Phu Street to Nguyen Thai Hoc Street.
The first project involves upgrading and widening Hung Vuong Road, from Tran Phu Street to Nguyen Thai Hoc Street. With a total investment of VND 12 billion (US$500,000), the project aims to standardize traffic organization along the route and meet defense, security, and diplomatic needs during major national events. The road was put into operation in time for high-level political and ceremonial activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
The second project focuses on infrastructure upgrades and traffic reorganization around the Pháp Van interchange, Nước Ngầm Bus Station, and Alley 15 Ngoc Hoi in Hoang Mai District, Ha Noi. Costing an estimated VND 19.5 billion (US$812,500), the project is designed to improve connectivity, ease congestion, and enhance road safety. Construction progress has reached approximately 70 percent completion.
The third and most extensive initiative is the construction of Ring Road 2.5, spanning three key sections: Dich Vong New Urban Area to Duong Dinh Nghe Street, Vu Pham Ham to Tran Duy Hung Street, and Nguy Nhu Kon Tum to Nguyen Trai Street. With a total cost exceeding VND 8.4 trillion (US$350 million), the project seeks to complete Hanoi's urban transport network, attract investment, reshape the corridor's urban landscape, and support the capital's socio-economic modernization.
To activate the project under emergency procedures, the Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee issued Decision No. 11/QD-UBND on January 4, 2026, authorizing emergency construction for the three sections. Project investors are currently advancing site surveys, technical design, planning, and cost estimation. Local authorities are organizing community meetings to disclose project details, conducting preliminary inventories, and coordinating with residents on the relocation of graves in accordance with local customs before the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month.
Project owners are also working with relevant agencies to clearly delineate work volumes to prevent duplication with other developments within the same investment scope.
Detailed execution plans are being finalized to keep emergency-ordered works on track. Construction is set to begin as soon as site clearance conditions are satisfied, and the projects are targeted for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026, with groundbreaking expected immediately after site handover./.
