Vu reiterated that the Viet Nam–Laos friendship is an invaluable asset that the two Parties, the two States, and the peoples of both countries should preserve and promote.
The official stressed the significance of the visit in advancing the bilateral cooperation towards a deeper and more substantive manner.
The investment cooperation between the two localities has yet to fully reflect the considerable potential of both sides, he noted.
Regarding the Kali potash mining project being carried out in Khammouane by the Viet Nam National Chemical Group, he expressed his confidence that it would soon be successfully resumed.
The host congratulated Khammouane Province on the recent inscription of one of its sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List, which is expected to provide fresh impetus for the two localities to strengthen tourism connectivity, develop joint travel routes and destinations, and attract more international visitors through Ha Noi.
Ounsida, for his part, reaffirmed his commitment to creating the most favorable conditions for projects undertaken by Vietnamese enterprises, particularly those from the capital city, to develop sustainably in the province.
He expressed his hope that Ha Noi would continue to support the province via human resource training, the sharing of governance experience, and introducing capable enterprises to explore investment opportunities.
Khammouane is home to numerous historical sites associated with President Ho Chi Minh and the sacrifices made by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, he said, asserting that the province's authorities and people have always treasure and carefully preserve these sites as sacred symbols of the enduring friendship between the two countries.
Both sides expected that the local-to-local ties would become increasingly substantive and effective, thereby contributing to the consolidation and further development of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos./.
