At the reception, Deborah Paul said the establishment of the Canada-Viet Nam comprehensive cooperative partnership has deepened ties between people of the two countries.
She said Canada will send a delegation to Viet Nam in the near future to assess the impacts, opportunities, and challenges of the CPTPP, as well as increase cooperation in fields of Ha Noi’s interest, such as human resources training, information, communications, and clean technology.
In turn, Chairman of the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung expressed his hope that Ambassador Paul would serve as a bridge linking Canada to Viet Nam, as well as Ha Noi in particular, in the new era.
He said the adoption of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) offers both opportunities and challenges to Ha Noi. Local authorities have come up with a plan for administrative reform, economic restructuring, and macro-economic stability to ensure the development of the business community, he added, thereby facilitating cultural, goods, and trade exchange./.
