The aforementioned plan was put forward by the Ha Noi Department of Health during a recent meeting with more than 30 directors of medical centers and hospitals in the city to deploy prevention and control measures against the COVID-19 epidemic.

Accordingly, the spearhead hospitals, including Bac Thang Long, Thanh Nhan, Duc Giang, Saint Paul and Ha Dong, have designed a plan to prepare 1,000 beds in service of the COVID-19 fight, as well as to ensure adequate supply of medicines and equipment for examination and treatment and organize exercises to stand ready for cases of infection.

The municipal Department of Health and the Ha Noi Capital High Command have jointly finalized a plan on the establishment of two field hospitals (600 beds each) and submitted it to the municipal People’s Committee.

In addition, the city will establish five quick response teams of 24/7 readiness to conduct field trips to implement the zoning of disease-hit areas, handle the outbreaks and take the samples of suspected cases of infection for testing. In case of necessity, all mobile anti-epidemic teams of districts could be mobilized to ensure forces for the prevention and control work.

The testing department of hospitals will be available round the clock to ensure enough staff for sampling all suspected cases for testing when required.

Director of the Ha Noi Department of Health Nguyen Khac Hien urged the units to focus on reviewing their epidemic prevention scenario, actively detect nCoV-infected cases and follow isolation protocol to minimize infection.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Health Hoang Duc Hanh said that every medical staff and the people should stay calm, update information from credible sources about the disease evolution as well as take proactive measures to protect themselves as recommended by the Ministry of Health.
