Ha Noi promotes collaboration with Phnom Penh

Nguyen emphasized that cooperation between the two capitals, Ha Noi and Phnom Penh, has been increasingly strengthened and developed, adding that Ha Noi has so far proactively expanded and established friendly and cooperative relations with more than 100 capitals and major cities around the world.
Within its overall external relations efforts, the capital city has always attached particular importance and given top priority to maintaining and advancing its strong cooperative relationship with capitals in Southeast Asia, notably Phnom Penh, the capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia, noted the Ha Noi official.
He expressed his hope that Ha Noi would further promote comprehensive, substantive, and effective cooperation with Phnom Penh, priority areas including promoting investment, expanding trade, strengthening cultural exchanges, and fostering tourism development between the two sides.
Alongside economic and trade cooperation, the Deputy Secretary placed particular emphasis on the importance of strengthening people-to-people exchanges between the two capitals, with a focus on young people and youth organizations.
In the coming period, Ha Noi will proactively develop and implement a range of practical and substantive programs and activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Viet Nam-Cambodia diplomatic relations by 2027, reiterated Nguyen.
Hun Many, for his part, highly appreciated the impressive socio-economic development achievements that Viet Nam as a whole, and Ha Noi in particular, has attained, especially amid complex and unpredictable developments in the global economic and political landscape.
Regarding cooperation programs between the youth organizations of the two countries, he said, based on the Memorandum of Understanding on enhanced cooperation signed between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Viet Nam and the UYFC, the two sides have agreed on a number of specific strategic areas of cooperation for the period through 2030.
The guest highlighted the important occasion in 2027, when Viet Nam and Cambodia will solemnly commemorate the 60th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations.
It will be a valuable opportunity for the governments and youth organizations of the two countries to strengthen communication and education, as well as encourage and inspire their younger generations to inherit and promote the valuable tradition of friendship painstakingly built by previous generations, while continuing to contribute their energy and vitality to further strengthening the bilateral relations, said the guest./.
