To some extent, such improvement has demonstrated the capital’s active efforts to increase the application of information technology (IT) in its administrative affairs in 2020.
The top three in the rankings remained unchanged compared to 2019 with the central coastal city of Da Nang leading the way, followed by its neighboring province Thua Thien-Hue and the northern province of Quang Ninh.
Notably, the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho produced an impressive leap, rising six notches to fourth.
The poorest performers in the field included the provinces of Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, Kon Tum, Cao Bang, and Lai Chau.
Compiled by the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Viet Nam ICT Index assesses localities’ technical infrastructure, IT application, online public services, and the IT industry, with more than 100 criteria.
The ICT Index is a measure of the level of ICT development and the readiness for ICT application in each country. The Viet Nam ICT Index report is one of the most important annual documents in an assessment report on the situation of IT application in the country.
