Ha Noi seeks US$55 billion to build 15 metro lines by 2045
VGP - Ha Noi aims to add five more rail routes to its existing plan for 10 lines, and to build them by 2045 at an estimated US$55 billion, said Deputy Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Duong Duc Tuan.
It is currently making amendments to the General Plan for the Construction of the Capital City of Ha Noi and the Transportation Planning of the Capital City.
According to the existing plan for until 2030, the network will have 10 lines with a total length of 410 km, and the city will add 207 km to it.
Urban rail is a mass public transport system with high speed and capacity, and the backbone of urban transport infrastructure, especially for Hanoi, said the Deputy Chairman.
So far, only the Cat Linh - Ha Dong line and the elevated section of the Nhon – Ha Noi Railway Station line currently in operation, he said the city aims to complete 10 lines by 2035 with a total length of 418 km at a cost of US$37 billion.
After reviewing capital sources, it expects to raise US$28 billion from other sources and obtain US$8 billion from the government./.
