Ha Noi strengthens int’l cooperation in cultural heritage preservation

Vu joined in the session's activities and held a series of meetings with international organizations and experts to enhance cooperation in preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage.
During the session, the World Heritage Committee is reviewing nominations for new World Heritage inscriptions, assessing the conservation status of existing World Heritage properties, and discussing measures to strengthen international cooperation in safeguarding and promoting cultural heritage.
Ha Noi's participation provides an opportunity for the city to stay abreast of international trends and best practices in heritage management, conservation, and promotion, while expanding exchanges and cooperation with international organizations and localities whose heritage sites have been recognized by UNESCO.
On the sidelines of the session, Vice Chairwoman Vu Thu Ha met with representatives of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), and experts from the joint UNESCO/ICOMOS advisory mission.
During the meetings, Vu expressed her appreciation for the continued support and cooperation provided by the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, ICOMOS, and international experts in assisting Ha Noi's heritage conservation efforts.
She also expressed the city's hope for continued collaboration and technical guidance to further improve management, preservation, and promotion of cultural heritage in the capital, particularly the Central Sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Through the participation, Ha Noi has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing UNESCO conventions, strengthening international cooperation, and promoting heritage values in support of sustainable development, while showcasing the capital's rich historical and cultural heritage to the international community./.
