HN: FDI attraction increases tenfold in Q1

VGP – In the first three months of 2019, Ha Noi attracted US$ 4.04 billion of FDI, up tenfold against the same period last year (US$ 399.8 million), the Ha Noi municipal People ’ s Committee reported.

In the reviewed period, the local authorities granted 153 new FDI projects with a total registered capital of US$ 60.2 million. About 37 projects got additional capital worth US$ 50.51 million. Foreign investors spent US$ 3.93 billion to buy stocks.

So far, the capital city absorbed US$ 40.6 billion and houses 4,551 valid projects.

Regarding domestic investment, the local authorities gave permission for eight non-State budget projects worth VND 8.4 trillion and adjusted investment capital for 15 projects valuing VND 3.2 trillion.

In the first quarter, 6,339 enterprises were founded with a total registered capital of over VND 52 trillion, up 16% in number and equivalent in value in comparison with the same period last year. Meanwhile, 632 enterprises were dissolved, up 67%. Over 3,600 enterprises registered temporary business suspension, up 51%. About 2,470 enterprises resumed operation./.
