HN honors outstanding citizens in 2016

VGP – The authorities of Ha Noi honored nine outstanding citizens on October 10 on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the city’s liberation day.

Chairman of the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said that the year of 2016 marks the 24 th anniversary of Ha Noi’s “good people, good deeds” movement.

The movement honored those with creative minds who came up with effective solutions in various fields, including production, science and technology, business and administrative reform.

A number of movements in charity, economic development, poverty reduction and protecting security have been spread to all districts. 

In the rest of 2016, the city will continue to combine the“good people, good deeds” movement with the patriotic emulation campaign and strive for set goals, said Mr. Chung.

The list of nine outstanding citizens includes Dinh Quang Bao (79 years old), Chairman of the Board of Directors of LADODA Production, Services and Trade, Ltd.; artisan Tran Van Do, from Bat Trang Commune in Gia Lam District; Do Thuy Ha, Chairwoman of Dong Da District’s Blind Association; Nguyen Van Hung, head of the specialised patrol of Khuong Mai Ward in Thanh Xuan District; and Nguyen Trong Long, a member of the Farmers’ Association of Tan Uoc Commune, head of Hoang Long Cooperative in Thanh Oai District.

The other honourees were Director and People’s Artist Dang Nhat Minh, former Chairman of Vietnam Cinema Association; Ta Thi Ngoc Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Association for the Encouragement of Study of Dich Vong Hau Commune in Cau Giay District; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Ph.D., Director of the Ha Noi Heart Hospital; and Colonel and Merited Teacher Nguyen Trong Vinh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nguyen Sieu School./.
