HN perfects investment environment

VGP – The Capital City of Ha Noi will take drastic measures to perfect investment and business environment and raise competitiveness, said Chairman of Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.

Chairman Chung made the point on April 25 while attending a monthly meeting of the Ha Noi People’s Committee for April. 

FDI attraction increases six times

Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Tran Ngoc Nam said that in April, major balances were ensured. Total state budget collection hit VND 90,426 billion, equivalent to 34.4% of forecast, up 18.7% against the same period last year. 

Export turnover was estimated at US$ 4.56 billion, up 12.9%. Import turnover reached US$ 10.1 billion, up 4.9%. Consumer price index (CPI) grew 4.06%. 

Industrial production index saw a month-on-month increase of 2.1% and a year-on-year growth of 7.5%. 

Total retail sale of goods and services was estimated at VND 216.9 trillion, up 1.4% against the previous month and 11.6% against the same period last year. 

In the January-April period, the city welcomed 1.67 million guests, up 5.8% against the same period last year. Total tourism revenue was estimated at VND 24 trillion, up 8.9%. 

The city continued to perfect the investment environment, entering the Top 10 PCI (ranking 9th place), up four steps against 2017, 15 steps against 2015. 

FDI attraction valued US$ 4.47 billion, up six times. Over 8,783 enterprises were founded with a total registered  capital of VND 83.23 trillion, up 12% in number and 5% in value. 

Speeding up sustainable budget collection

In May, the city will implement 76 tasks and solutions as stipulated in Action Plan 12/CTr-UBND. 

In addition, the city will prepare for annual conferences on investment, trade, tourism; improve investment and business environment; raise competitiveness; collect budget; and resolve tax debts. 

The city will increase grade 3 and grade 4 public services; prevent transmitted diseases; and ensure hygiene safety./.
