HN risks community spread of COVID-19

VGP – Ha Noi is facing possible risks of coronavirus community spread . Hence, it is necessary to seriously implement central and local measures on disease prevention, especially the PM’s Directive 16 on COVID-19 Prevention and Control, said Deputy Chairman of the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy.

Mr. Quy made the point on April 9 in Ha Noi at a Governmental meeting on COVID-19 Prevention and Control. 

He reported that 1,264 returnees have recently finalized 14-day quarantine procedures. Over 400 people are being quarantined at hospitals. About 3,500 others are quarantined at homes. 

The city housed 30 COVID-19 clusters with 102 positive cases of which 62 were detected in the community. 

So far, infection sources of some cases have yet been clarified. Hence, the Deputy Chairman underlined the necessity to seriously implement preventive measures. He demanded local residents follow disease prevention measures of the Government and the local authorities especially the PM’s Directive 16 on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The same day, the Ministry of Health reported four new cases, raising the total number to 255.

Noticeably, over the past few days, the number of newly infected cases in Me Linh District was on the rise. There were four cases in the cluster including Patient 243, Patient 250, Patient 253, and Patient 254. 

Ha Loi commune located in Me Linh District, Ha Noi has been officially locked down for 28 days, from April 8-May 5.
