HN spends money on flood relief rather than fireworks

VGP - The Municipal Party Committee of Hà Nội on October 8 decided to cancel fireworks performances at 29 sites on the occasion of the 1000th birthday of Thăng Long-Hà Nội. The total expenditure will be spent on assisting fellow-citizens who have been hit by severe flooding in the Central Region.

urged organizations and individuals to join hands in lifting flood victims out
of difficulties and early stabilizing their lives.

October 5, Hà Nội provided an emergency relief worth of VND 5 billion for
Hà Nội intends
to light up fireworks at 29 sites in the city on October 10 evening to welcome
the 1000th birthday anniversary of Thăng Long-Hà Nội.
