HN to hold investment, tourism promotion conference with Japan

The conference will take place on March 29, expecting to draw the attendance of 200 delegates including 120 Japanese ones. 

The event targets to introduce the investment environment and opportunities in Ha Noi; spur FDI from Japan to Ha Noi; support Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises to learn about respective investment, commercial, and tourism markets. Organizers also hope to seek investors in favor of socio-economic development in Ha Noi. 

Moreover, the conference is expected to forge a playing field for Vietnamese and Japanese communities to exchange experiences and cooperation in culture, education, healthcare, tourism, and economics. 

In the conference, organizers will introduce an overview of local investment and tourism to Japanese partners.   

Japan is the leading ODA provider for Ha Noi when it has pledged nearly US$ 3 billion for 32 ODA-funded projects in the city. It is also the second biggest foreign investor in Hanoi with over 950 projects worth over US$5.4 billion.

Earlier, the Ha Noi People’s Committee and the Japanese Embassy held an investment promotion conference in June 2016. A series of investment, trade and tourism promotion activities have been implemented since then. As a result, there were 226 new investment projects of Japan with total registered capital of US$ 981 million in Ha Noi in 2017./.
