Homeland Spring 2019 to take place in Ha Noi
VGP – The “Homeland Spring” program 2019, an annual meeting for Vietnamese nationals returning home from all over the world during the upcoming lunar New Year festival will be held on January 26 (the 21st day of the 12th lunar month) in Ha Noi.
The program will be jointly held by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs and the Ha Noi People’s Committee.
The overseas community will get updated on socio-economic affairs at home and connect with their countrymen in Viet Nam and abroad.
Additionally, a number of famous domestic and overseas artists will give performances at the event to welcome the return of overseas Vietnamese and the 2018 spring.
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and President Nguyen Phu Trong is expected to host the event while other Party and State senior officials and Ha Noi leaders will possibly join the meeting.
There are approximately 4.5 million Vietnamese living and working in 103 countries and territories worldwide. They form an indispensable part of the nation and play an important role in intensifying friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and the rest of the world.
The annual event, which was first organized in 2008, aims to provide a platform for overseas Vietnamese to share their aspirations and thoughts and honor those who have contributed to the homeland’s development.
