Hung Yen, Ha Noi interprovincial road inaugurated

VGP - The Coma-Cotana joint venture and the People’s Committee of Gia Lam district held a ceremony in Ha Noi on August 19 to inaugurate the new road connecting Ha Noi - Hung Yen.

Receiving total investment of around VND 2,100 billion, the 4.2 kilometre long, 40m wide, six lane road has been designed for vehicles travelling a maximum speed of 80 kilometres per hour.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Ha Noi People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Quoc Hung asked the Department of Transport, Police Department, related agencies and investors to ensure traffic safety and manage the road effectively.

This road is the first stage of the longer Ha Noi – Hung Yen interprovincial road, which will be 21 kilometres long, running from the northern bank of Thanh Tri Bridge in Ha Noi to Highway 39 in Dan Tien commune, Khoai Chau district, Hung Yen province. The entire interprovincial road project will cost of VND2.1 trillion.
This is considered one of city’s important projects for a synchronized infrastructure network between Ha Noi and other localities.

Furthermore, it is expected to reduce traffic pressure on National Road No.5 and widen traffic system of the capital city and the road will also help Ha Noi to further promote its strength in the areas of trade, tourism and eco-logical services as well as to attract more investment.
