July CPI up 0.18%
VGP – The Ha Noi Statistics Department reported that the capital's consumer Price Index (CPI) in July increased 0.18% over the previous month and up 6.39% compared to the same period last year.

Two surges in petroleum retail selling prices at the end of June and the beginning of July, pushed transport costs higher, thus contributing to the rise in the CPI.
Ten out of the 11 commodities saw increased prices. Meanwhile, the price of postal services and telecommunications remained unchanged.
The prices of food and foodstuff only rose 0.01%. The prices of housing and construction materials, electricity, water and fuel saw an increase of 0.53% and groups of beverages and tobacco increase of 0.55%.
Due to the hike in oil and gas prices, the price of traffic services inched up by 0.51% this month.
Gold prices rose 1.97% in comparison with the previous month and reduced 2.51% over the same period last year. The US dollar saw 0.56% month-on-month rise and 0.76% against the corresponding period last year.
