Leader wish Catholics nationwide merry Christmas

VGP - Secretary of the Ha N oi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai in Ha Noi on December 18 visited Archbishop of the Ha Noi Archdiocese Cardinal Nguyen Van Nhon to extend his Christmas and New Year greetings.

On behalf of the city’s leaders, Hai congratulated Joseph Vu Van Thien on his appointment as archbishop of the Ha Noi Archdiocese and wished Catholic dignitaries and followers nationwide a merry Christmas and happy New Year.

He briefed the capital’s socio-economic development in 2018 and development plans for 2019, noting the significant contributions of the archdiocese to the city’s education, health and environmental sectors.

The official hoped the archdiocese’s dignitaries and local Catholics would continue their tradition of strengthening national solidarity and developing the capital.

In turn, Archbishop Joseph Vu Van Thien stated that it is his honour to lead the Ha Noi Archdiocese and thanked the Hanoi secretary for his wishes while expressing his desire that he will receive the Ha Noi government’s support during his tenure.

He extended his thanks to the city’s leaders and said that each local Catholic has a duty to lead a good religious life, support other people and contribute to Ha Noi.
