Number of tourists grows 9.3% in 2018

VGP – The Capital City of Ha Noi welcomed 26 million guests in 2018, representing a year-on-year increase of 16%, the Ha Noi Tourism Department reported.

The number of foreign guests hit over US$ 4.7 million, up 16%, of whom 4.1 million stayed overnight in Ha Noi. Meanwhile, 20.2 million domestic guests arrived in the city, posting a year-on-year growth of 7.5%.
The city earned over VND 75 million of revenue, up 11.7% against the same period last year. The Department estimated that the number of foreign tourists would account over 37% of the total number of international guests to Viet Nam.
In 2018, foreign guests from nearly 190 countries and territories came to Ha Noi. Foreign guests from Asia made about 60% of the total number; followed by those from Europe with about 24%; the Americas with 9%; Australia with 6%; and Africa with 1%./.
