OCOP products, regional specialties promoted
VGP - An event showcasing products related to the culture of the northern mountainous provinces attracted over 100 booths displaying more than 2,000 One Commune One Product (OCOP) items and regional specialties from Ha Noi, 35 provinces and cities on Trinh Cong Son Pedestrian Street in Ha Noi from September 21 to 25.

The event aims to improve the productivity, product quality, and capacity of OCOP entities.
Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Ta Van Tuong said that this is an important event to help businesses and promotion units network and sell safe farm produce, OCOP products and regional specialties nationwide, thus promoting the implementation of the OCOP Program for 2021-2025.
The event also provides an opportunity for OCOP entities in Ha Noi and provinces and cities across the country to exchange and enhance trade promotion. This aims to improve the productivity, product quality, and capacity of OCOP units.
Nguyen Van Chi, Deputy Head of the Ha Noi New Rural Development Program Coordination Office reported that the city is home to over 2,000 classified OCOP products, accounting for 22 percent of the country's OCOP products.
Among these products, six five-star products are recognized by the central authority, 12 five-star candidate products, 1,369 four-star products, and 780 three-star products. In terms of sectors, there are 1,372 food products, 47 beverage products, 39 herbal products, 660 handicraft products, 47 fabric and garment products, and two tourism products.
The OCOP program aims to uphold the potential of agricultural and cottage industry production in the city and has been a catalyst for innovation in production thinking, meeting consumer demand, and driving strong changes in rural economic construction and development./.
