Swiss woman helps Vietnamese AO victims

VGP - The Viet Nam Association for the Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) received a US$10,000 donation from Maggie Brooks – a Swiss citizen to build houses for victims in Ha Noi on May 27.


Speaking at a ceremony, VAVA Vice Chairman Nguyen The Luc expressed thanks for the valuable assistance from Maggie Brooks, who helped lawyers of VAVA meet the International Association of Democratic Lawyers in 2011, to pursue justice for Vietnamese Agent Orange (AO) victims, saying that Viet Nam treasured its golden-hearted donors and thanked them for their support

The Swiss woman spoke of how her husband had to sit in wheelchair for 12 years before he passed away. Maggie said she understands the physical and spiritual pain that Vietnamese AO victims are suffering.

She said that her small donation can help ease the difficulties of local victims who are still facing lingering pain and suffering ahead. she hopes other people will join hands with her so that a peace village can be built for Agent Orange/Dioxin victims.
