VGP - Diverse activities including a calligraphy writing festival have been held in the capital city to introduce cultural characteristics of Ha Noi ancient streets and celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival.

Many calligraphy artists are gathering on the street outside Ha Noi’s Van Mieu (Temple of Literature) to show their beautiful writings in both Chinese and Vietnamese characters to those who like to adorn their home with such gifts as best wishes for prosperity and happiness in the upcoming Year of the Cat.

Calligraphy writing activities at the Temple of Literature will be prepared carefully as from this year in order to preserve Viet Nam’s spiritual value and unique culture, Calligrapher Le Quoc Viet from Ha Noi Young Calligraphers Club said.

The event run through to March 8 and welcome visitors from 8am to 8pm every day.
