The project is one of a series of activities to mark the 70th anniversary of the Capital's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - 2024).

The project is the concretization of the orientations of the industrial cluster development plan in the city.

The Nam Phuc Tho Industrial Cluster comprises nearly 42 hectares and has a total investment of about VND780 billion (US$31.6 million).

With a prime location on National Highway 32, it is easily accessible from downtown Ha Noi and neighboring districts. The Nam Phuc Tho Industrial Cluster is expected to contribute to promoting and expanding intra-regional economic cooperation opportunities as well as utilizing the potential and advantages of the locality.

The project is expected to become a center of concentrated industrial production, provide jobs for workers, help stabilize people's lives, and ensure social security.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said that the city has so far built 26 of the 43 planned industrial clusters, and the Nam Phuc Tho Industrial Cluster is the 27th.

The Deputy Chairman tasked the departments, agencies, and Phuc Tho District of the city to facilitate the investor's project implementation, eliminate obstacles, and expedite the completion of administrative procedures.

Ha Noi is home to ten industrial zones with a total area of 1,300 hectares. Nine of them are active and almost fully leased, while the Ha Noi South Ancillary Industry Park is under construction.

In 2022, these parks generated US$8.1 billion in revenue, up 4.1 percent year-on-year, with combined exports estimated at US$5.1 billion and imports at US$4.3 billion.

By 2030, Ha Noi aims to have 159 industrial clusters with a total area of 3,200 hectares, expand five clusters established between 2017 and 2020 with a total area of about 45 hectares, and build 21 new clusters with an area of about 536 hectares./.
