Specifically, production of the manufacturing industry expanded 7.8%; electricity production and distribution increased 5.8%; water supply and treatment of waste and wastewater surged 5.7%. Meanwhile, the mining industry shrank 9.8%.

Most of the manufacturing and processing sectors reported year-on-year IIP growth during the January-February period.

However, the city’s IIP in February tumbled 23.2% from the previous month and 11.4% compared to the same period in 2020, which was mainly due to the fact that the Lunar New Year 2021 holiday fell in February, causing businesses’ production time to be shorter than that of other months.

Right from the beginning of the year, Ha Noi, together with functional units, has strengthened the connection of supply chains through the organization of supply-demand connection events, thus bringing many positive results and contributing significantly to the development of the domestic market in association with the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods.” Some industries saw remarkably increased production compared to the same period last year.
