VGP - Chairman of Ha Noi People's Committee Nguyen The Thao has joined Ha Noi’s authorities to kick off construction for the first phase of the Ha Noi Pediatrics Hospital in Yen Nghia ward, Ha Dong district, Ha Noi.

The 500-bed hospital is being constructed on an area of over 67,000 m2. The six-storey facility, worth nearly VND 785 billion (nearly US$35 million), is expected to be equipped with modern equipment and advanced technologies in a bid to serve healthcare needs of the people not just in the capital region but from surrounding areas as well.

The project, divided into two phases, is scheduled for completion in 2018.

The first phase includes an outpatient clinic, a sub-clinical and diagnostic area, an administrative area and a 200-bed in-patient area.

Upon completion of the modern hospital, advanced technology will be used to improve healthcare for children in Ha Noi and other provinces.

The Chairman urged the municipal Department of Health to work with stakeholders to ensure efficient implementation of the project while focusing on training human resources for the operation of the facility.

He also called on other relevant bodies to provide support for the health sector in the project implementation as well as human resource training.

The project aims to meet the healthcare demand of local people and help ease current overloading at the National Hospital of Pediatrics and health care facilities in the vicinity.
